If freedom is simply being able to do what you want, are animals freer than humans?

Animals are driven by instinct. They do not choose so much as obey. Humans have developed a complex mind which makes us believe we are making choices.

* For me, freedom is discipline. Freedom is the discipline to be in accordance with one’s nature. To be a good man.

* The differentiation should not be human vs animal bit rather social animal vs solitary animal. Humans are social animals like chimpansees, dogs, horses etc…and I think that freedom should be seen in the context of the freedom in relation to the social norms of the group….thus the freedom of the human stops where the social norms of humans take over.
