Is it the main purpose of law to promote morality?

No, to prevent injustice. You can’t teach morality with law !

* No, to prevent injustice. You can’t teach morality with law !

* Each individual discovers his/her law for themselves. We accept those ‘laws’ created by others with which we agree and reject or ignore those ‘laws’ created by others with which we disagree. We all attempt to do that which we ourselves think good and reject that which we ourselves think bad so our personal laws are for our own personal morality. In my opinion, all our confusion comes from the fictional notion of external law. Just because someone else (or many someones) has tried to prohibit or compell us does not make it so.

* Law only exists (in the US) to defend the interests of capitalist and private ownership.
